Jarrod 'Tiny' Mckimmie

Manager, operator and all-round main man.

Jarrod was born and raised in New Zealand. Growing up around farms and machinery on the North Island. Gaining qualifications in Welding, Fabricating, Civil Drainage and engineering.

This led to his first job with Blackley Construction which laid the foundation for building the skills and knowledge around plant machinery, drainage and groundworks. This involved both civil drainage and groudworks including trenching through the mountains above Wellington for a new wind turbine farm, and agricultural groundworks and ditching on farmland around New Zealand.

Moving to live on the South Island and working for North Otago Ditching and Bailing built on the skills and knowledge in machinery and plant operating. Working on plant around the South Island, installing maintaining and altering farms and agricultural land. It also pushed Jarrod into the contracting and agricultural engineering side working in a busy agricultural contracting business and on the base farm itself.

Making a massive jump around the world to work at Lutton Straw in the UK led onto becoming Workshop manager and Foreman for Agribale LTD. Gaining experience in all aspects of contract agriculture, developing the plant side of the business and growing his knowledge of UK agriculture and adding that to his skills gained from NZ.

Starting Silver Fern Agri LTD is a life long ambition of Jarrod's to run his own agricultural business. Proving a professional, timely and bespoke service to fit with each customers needs and requirements. Drawing on the years of experience in industry to provide a service to take pride in.

Chelsey Bailey

'The Office'

Chelsey grew up in and around farming in the UK. Her grandparents ran a successful livestock haulage business and had a small holding of Cattle and Sheep. She also rode and has been involved in horses from a very young age. Spending anytime she wasn't forced into school on the farm.

On leaving school she started her own business as a freelance groom and rider, traveling around the UK and further a field in various capacities mainly with horses but with animals of all kinds.

Finally settling into a full time Job as a firefighter in Peterborough in 2016, her passion for animals and agriculture has never left and she has carried on working all sorts of other roles alongside her full time job. Even managing to combine the two helping to teach animal rescue in the fire service and developing the relationship between agriculture and the fire service.

Helping with running the day to day of Silver Fern Agri Ltd with Jarrod, ensuring that the paperwork is squared away, quotes and invoicing and all the other odd bits and bobs don't get forgotten. She also is the spare set of hands on some jobs when its needed.
